Any element that doesn't show metallic bonding of the elements electrons, that doesn't conduct heat, electricty, or other forms of energy well, or that gives off hydrogen gas when reacted with an acid. Those are the chemical properties of metals and just to let you know Hydrogen fits all of those, just not as a gas.
The physical properties of metals are Malleable, and have a high luster in their pure form.
However it may be noted that some metals do not show all of the physical properties, manganese for example is very brittle at almost all temperatures where it is not softened by heat (e.g, like glass, it is very brittle except in semi-molten state) and Hydrogen shows no physical preperties but all chemical properties. And as for poor francium, we have yet to create any quantity large enough to test physical properties of it and even if sombody did, the radiation it gave off would kill them almost instantly.
