A form of government invented my Carl Marx and Engels. The idea of communism basically is that everyone is equal and belongs to the middle class. This class is essentially the working class. Traditionally it means everyone is poor. The economy is planned ahead in a period of five or ten years ahead, and each production section of the country is responsible to adhering to and keeping the national plan. Communism dislikes religious rituals, such as Christian God-worshiping, and the political life is dictated only by one party, with a leader on front. The Russian Stalin, Lenin, Tito, were Communist leaders (dictators) for example. Probably the most important difference between a Communist and a Democratic political system is, that while in a Capitalist system most of the institutions are privatized, in the Communist system, everything is the property of the state. This also means however, that the state is responsible of providing you a job, meaning that in a Communist system there is no unemployment. Communism also means that people's democratic rights of free speech, the expression of personal opinion, are oppressed, and therefore are controlled solely by the omnipotent state. The Russian type of Communist system that spread through Central Europe, touching Hungary, Czech Republic (Former Checko-Slovakia) , Slovenia, Romania, France, and Germany, quickly broke with the fall of the Russian economy during the early 1990s, therefore allowing the post-Communist countries inlcuding Hungary, France, Germany, Slovakia, (even Russia) to form new, democratic, capitalist-style of political governments.

Communism is the abolition of power of people over people. This means abolishing "oppression," whether the oppression be of nations by nations, classes by classes, women by men or any other division in society. Communism is based on mutual cooperation, peace and justice instead of oppression.
Long-run goals of communism include the abolition of classes and organized society without governments or borders. Communists believe that as in certain tribal societies in the past and living still today, it is possible for humyns to organize themselves without war, crime, starvation and homelessness. When there are social problems, communists blame those problems on how society is organized. They seek to organize society to bring out the best in people, however flawed the species may be.
Except in tribal societies, no communist leader* has ever claimed that a society has achieved communism yet. That means the industrial societies of our time have either lived in capitalism or socialism.
In basic terms it is the form of government described by Karl Marx and Fredrick Engels in their writings. Communism is the control of goods and services (commodities) through a government that produces only to serve the people. It is total equality. Communism is abolition of private property, meaning that resources (minerals, coal, oil, ect.) and production (factories, plants, refineries, ect.) are owned in common by the people. There are generally no taxes except on a few extremely wealthy individuals. That leads to the next point. It is a government mainly for the working class and the common people. The government controls commodities unlike corporations who may do as they please in Capitalism, and who usually squander these resources for their own benifit and greed. The media also has true freedom and is not controlled by the government. Housing is also generally free along with health care. Eventually wages and pay from working are eliminated and people are taught to work for the common good. There is also no rascism or discrimination in a communist government. Since everything is equal it makes since. It is also proposed that there will be no police brutality.

Like all possible utopias an easy sales pitch, but the devils in the details. The government both figuratively & actually owns all production capasity. The statement is everyone according to their ability & everyone according to their needs. The government definds your needs.
Connections are even more important than in capitalist economy. Even fewer live the good life while the masses stand in line.

The basic idea is that the state makes sure to provide equally for the people, more or less...
people say it isn't practical in the real world, but the fact is it's never been tried... a communist dictatorship is as bad as any other dictatorship, and any democratic communism gets overthrown by military organizations trained and funded by the united states. so thanks to kissinger and pinochet, we don't know if it works or not.

Everyone works for the state and the state takes care of you from cradle to grave.
This method of government has been repeatedly shown to be impractical in the real world.
