Do you generally give a thumbs down when you don't agree with the poster?
Or when you think their answer is not educated enough?
Or when you think they are dumb themselves?
Do you base it on your impression of them from other answers or questions they are participated in?
I try to give a thumbs down when the answer is either 1. not an answer but a sarcastic remark 2. not readable or understandable or 3. totally wrong in fact.
Not because of my opinion of that person in general.

I give thumbs down only if the answer is very offensive, esp. when it is racist or favors violence, or if it is totally wrong in fact. I don't give thumbs down only because I don't agree.

If i dont like the look.I give it credit for catching my attention.if it sounds uneducated,i hold back a slap and feel as though they at least caught my attention.If the message is dumbfounded then the expression of ideas is low enough from that closed mind input that i will definatly have a higher power in myself to realize my own intellagence and expression of posative vs. negative impact i am ,capable of expressing.

I never give an opinion a thumbs down, because everyone is truly entitled to think what they please. If something is factually wrong I will 'thumb down' the person.
