The first half of the movie was great, and it was everything you would want from this sort of animated feature. As a matter of fact, the first half of Happy Feet has got to be the cutest first half in the history of movie-making. Hehehehe.
However, there's a huge shift in mood all of a sudden in the middle of the movie, making the end result inconsistent. I personally felt that what they did for the second half was trying way too hard, and the set-up was far too abrupt. And it just wasn't the same movie by the end, and not in a good way, IMHO.
As for the characters -- HAPPY FEET is not FINDING NEMO. FINDING NEMO was funny, sweet, touching, poignant and consistent all the way through and all at the same time, and the characters were a huge part of that. They made you care about them, so that made you root for them.
HAPPY FEET kind of left me a little... cold. Excuse the pun, I didn't mean to. :) It's kind of like, I WANTED the happy ending for the characters but as soon as the movie was over, because of the abrupt shift in second half, I sort of forgot about them when I left the theater.
That's my two cents. :)

For me to be extremely satisfied, the international would might want to be in a a lot more beneficial state than that is presently in. i'd choose all and sundry to have an education - not basically formal education in accordance to propaganda yet a actual education with regards to wondering about debatable topics. i'd choose all superfluous wars to end - until eventually we are scuffling with over uncomplicated desires (nutrition, safeguard, water) we do not favor to kill one sufficient - because as knowledgeable human beings lets actual manage topics diplomatically. i'd choose issues that do not be able to damage others (like many drugs, abortion, suicide, and so on) to be legalized and stay criminal so as that this nicely-knowledgeable inhabitants (see a million) will be able to make their personal options about their personal bodies. i'd choose ecological concerns to be a important coverage-maker. considering none of those products are going to take position any time quickly, i'm not likely to be happy, satisfied, satisfied.

I've seen "Happy Feet" and in my opinion, it was just ok. There are some very funny and cute moments. Kids will probably appreciate this one the most. As an adult....I will stick with Finding Nemo. : )

I really liked the first hour or so of the movie. And then it kinda went downhill for me. Don't get me wrong, the movie was good and the animation was outstanding, but it was just not what I was expecting.
