I'm Greek, and we hate Turks for the most part. Because Greeks were kicked out of Turkey and murdered about 80-90 years ago. It's all a farce so the countries can join the European Union.

I have had many friends from Turkish Cyprus, one of which was my roommate for two years. I know that a lot of Greeks (and many other Europeans) despise the Turks due to historical reasons, but at the same time many Turkish people feel very strongly about things like Greece's attitude towards Turkish Cypriots being a part of the EU. I honestly cannot see things changing anytime soon.

I am from Pakistan myself, and Pakistan and India are supposed to be arch-enemies, having fought three major wars. However, I have many friends from India, while I have hardly seen and Greek and Turkish people hang out or even talk to each other. It is sad and I do not see things changing, unless people from both sides enter a honest and open dialogue and make a sincere effort to get over the past and get rid of their biases.

I was in Cyprus for 3 months this year and I must say, I don't think they like each other. It is so bad, the Greeks don't sell Turkish Delights in Cyprus, they sell Cyprus Delights!! I found that funny.

Must say, I don't blame the Greeks though if you look at the history.

I was on both sides of the country and the Turkish side of Nicosia was heartbreaking.
