The gender bias is real, how much ever the companies cry hoarse to prove otherwise!
Especially in India, where the corporate world is male dominated, gender bias is predominant. However, a few industries and fewer corporates have started to come out of this.
The first and foremost for a woman is to be assertive without being perceived as "arrogant".
Second is not to shun any opportunity that would provide an "unconventional" career option.
Third , of course is the old fashioned "waiting for the right moment" to stake the claim.
good luck and all the best!
