Even with our eye lids shut.. we are viewing the back of our eye lids.
We blink to moisten our eyes..
To remove dust or dirt.. etc.

We don't blink to reload like a computer or game.

The blinking thing isn't quite true, because you can turn your head and see a different image even if you don't blink while doing so. Blinking is to moisten the eye.

However, our vision IS composed of individual "snapshots" that come to us at really high speed (as the signals pass through our nervous system). The continuity we experience is created by the brain as it interprets the signals.

I don't believe this is true. The human eye blinks to keep it moist and to keep debris from getting in the line of vision. There are some people who rarely blink. Their sight is fine but they have dry eyes and must constantly put liquid tears in or their eyes become red, irritated and puffy.
This shoots this theory down since these people have no problems with their vision just the health of the eye.
