how can i speed my process of dilating up? i don't know if i am having contractions i mean on my left side it will hurt in the middle of my stomach and in my lower abdomin i will feel alot of pressure. I went to the doctor this morning and he said i was dilated 1 cm. friday when i went to the hospital i wasn't dilated at all. i have been walking and my due date is on saturday i don't want to be pregneant forever so please help me!!!!!!!

Try and relax,your cervical muscles are just as tense as you are.Do some breathing exercises,take relaxing shower(not too warm).If all else fails ask medcations to help your cervical muscles to relax.

there is a restaurant in Georgia that claims if you eat their eggplant parmesan on or after your due date that you will deliver in 24 hours.
I don't know about that, but for the last 3 of 4 deliveries, my doc/midwife stripped my membranes( basically a rough cervical exam), and then I went home, had sex with my hubby and woke up 4-5 hours later with contractions. Each time it produced a baby in hand in less than 24 hours. Although this does not work in all cases, it worked in mine!

Semen is a natural dialator, sex will help. The pressure against the cervix and the semen. Its a little traumatic for the guy if your water breaks or you have heavy contractions during but he'll live.

have sex . something about the sperm helps speed things up . also if you were to orgasm then your stomach contracts and that can get the contractions started. funny how sex got the baby in there and its sex that helps the baby get out. good luck.
