They should start to coo and make noises around 6-12 weeks. As for talking, it could go anywhere from 6-12 months. It all depends on the vocal cord development. If you encourage them to talk, they will. They love to mimick sounds so make a game out of it.

Both my daughter started talking at about 5-6 months old.in my opinion i think girls talk first.

my daughter was 6 months old when she started to say MAMA!!! I was so happy.
