Reasonable Doubt came out in 1996...but he started freestyling as a teenager...Jay-Z can be heard on several of Jaz-O's early recordings in the late 80's and early 90's, including "The Originators" and "Hawaiian Sophie."

I think the first song he performed on was hawain sophie like early 90's or late 80's not exactly sure.
