The Raven, because it's so haunting and poetic. I can recite it from memory. The Simpsons actually had a Halloween episode years ago in which James Earl Jones recited it. It was so cute with Homer playing the protagonist! Poe is one of my favorite transcendentalist authors.

By the way, just being a little nitpicky here, don't mind me: his middle name is spelled Allan, not Allen. :)

I really enjoy "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe? It was a statement I like: Quote the raven never more.

I don't really have a favorite literary work by Poe - I love all of his work, mostly because it addresses tghe darker side of the human psyche. I just had to reply to the idea that Annabelle Lee is a "sweet" poem. The speaker in the poem is talking about sleeping with the corpse of the dead woman he is still obsessed with!

Tell Tale Heart

I have the same birthday as EA Poe! (and Dolly Parton, Robert E Lee, Desi Arnas, Jr....)

Everybody seems to be able to pick up a sentence or two, or an idea from his work, which is universally studied as part of English Lit.
No special favorites here, just bits and pieces and snippets of his prose here and there all come to mind.

Oh boy, that's a tough one. He wrote so well and so many great pieces. Can I say more than one? Gotta mention 'The Raven'.
Then how about 'The Gold Bug' or 'The Murders in The Rue Morgue'. No I can't choose, sorry.
