At 12 years old I doubt you want her (I'm assuming it's your daughter) attracting older guys, if any at all. I think a little clear or light lip gloss and maybe letting her use an eyelash curler would be plenty. At that age especially, beauty should be natural and focused on the person not the makeup. Besides, not many guys I know really like makeup that much. They view a girl that doesn't wear a lot of makeup as much prettier than a girl that does wear a lot.

I didn't start wearing make-up till this year (14 going on 15). But, my mom did allow me to have lip gloss, and a small thing of blush. And, because I have very pale and thin eyebrows, she allowed me to use eyebrow pencil. On the special occasion, she would let me use mascara, but I'd have to get her permission. It was a mostly clear mascara, but it had glitter in it, so there was a little something there. She also let me have a tube of roll-on glitter I could put on my face or arms.
Whatever you do, make sure it's light. Your daughter obviously isn't a prostitute, so she shouldn't be wearing a whole bunch of make-up. All I wear, is a very light concealer, eyebrown pencil (obviously), mascara, and occasionally eyeshadow/eyeliner. You should ask your child what she thinks is an appropriate make-up level for her, and then come to a deal. Whatever you give her, make sure she knows how to use it properly. There is nothing more embarassing then going to school with messed up make-up (believe me, I know.).

I remember how I felt when I was 12 and all of my little friends started wearing the thick black eyeliner and I was stuck with a bare makeup-less face. It's not really fair to tell her not to wear any makeup at all. I would suggest mascera, lipgloss, concealer/foundation, and if she really wants to wear an eyeshadow or eyeliner just don't make it daily. More of like an occasion type thing or not aloud at school. Restricting her from something will make her want to do it more and possibly behind her parents backs so just give it to her in limits. =]

I know from being 12 at one point myself that she should NOT wear too much makeup.
lipgloss and concealer are always allowed
pink or gold eyeshadow is okay, but don't use too much.
Maybe, if she has shorter eyelashes, a bit of clear mascara.
At 12, many people don't wear much makeup, so wearing eyeliner, dark mascara, or smoky eye makeup would look out of place...I'm not saying that a 12-year old is not matue, (as some other people here have suggested) but you don't want her to stand out too much or people will think she looks bad...just stick with lipgloss and a bit of eyeshadow, and she'll be fine!

I started wearing make-up when I was 12 (I'm 14 now). I was allowed to wear eyeshadow (only light pastels and like browns, but not to dark) clear mascara. She should try great lash clear mascara by maybelline, it works just as good as the colored, but not as dramatic. Lip gloss in any color (just not dark). I also used and still do, Rimmel Matte Perfection pressed powder (it also comes in liquid) because it helped control my oily skin. Make sure she has some quality eye make up remover and washes her face in the morning and at nite so she doesnt break out. O yeah, you should also show her how to do her makeup so it doesnt look to cheesy or to mature. The older she gets she should be able to use any color eyeliner and black mascara.

i think that at 12 maybe a little lipgloss i wouldnt go to heavy on the other stuff they dotn need concealers and foundations i would go with light colours there are to many perverts and if a young child is wearing a lot of make up it might make her look older and i feel put a bulls eye on her but a light lip gloss with a shine or sparkle she will love . this is just my opinion though

I think that you should consult your parents. Only do as mush as they'll let you. If you don't argue about it with them, then they'll be much more inclined to let you wear more. I think that when you're 12 you should be allowed to wear the following (if it's ok with your parents):
mascara
light lipgloss
1 color only of eyeshadow (and it has to be light)
sparkles for eyes or cheeks
Once you're 13, I say to go all out. It's just whatever you want to wear. I hope this helps!

Lip gloss only, plz no make up still way too young. And by the way that's how it all begins, sooner or later you'll be posting a question on, (How did my young daughter end up on drugs and knocked up) hello reality check she is only 12 just started the puberty process. And you are suppose to teach your daughter to not want to do those type of things encourage her on natural beauty.

You are tyoung so why wear make-up let people see the true you don't cover yourself with fake products, but if you must wear make up there is some type of new cosmetics that actually blend in with your skin so it looks natural even though we all know it's not, people won't be able to tell if it's your real skin or make up- but it's better to just wear your natural glow
