I don't see how they can be stopped, now that they've given almost $4m to a guy with over 400 - sorry, that's 40 - career homers, an incredible .265 batting average, and 2 career stolen bases.

Is this the best deal of the offseason?

Ozgard - Yes, I'm being facetious. It's not the worst signing by any means, but I was exaggerating to see what kind of response I'd get. There's not much news lately, so I thought I'd throw something out there.

Craig, I don't think it will happen.

And I am not just saying because "I dislike the white sox with a passion so deep it burns my soul"

Sounds Hall will be a back-up to AJ.

Vance Wilson (who is the back for Pudge) has better numbers than Hall.

The White Sox haven't really done much this off-season, while The Tigers have added a power bat (granted it is Sheffiled, and if he stays healthy and doesnt pout all season he'll be okay).

The Tigers have also re-signed some key players:
Sean Casey
Brandon (I can make 2 errors on one play) Inge
and Jeremy Bonderman.

Plus we have Justin Verlander
Joel Zumaya
Kenny Rogers
and
Todd (Oops! Did I just throw away the ball) Jones.

I am not saying The Tigers will repeat as AL Champions
but they do have pretty much the same core as players
and should only get better with the experience they gained in 2006.

Plus, if the white sox did win the Central (or become the wild card) you would still have to get past either The Yankees or The Red Sox. The Yankees are really pissed off and you can believe they will look to get even after their early exit in the playoffs in '06.

Although The White Sox do have a chance of making the playoffs in '07, I really dont think they will win the WS.

You so funny.
I agree that I would've like to see Freddy stay and Javy go, tired of watching Vasquez blow up the third time through the order. Hall will make a better backup catcher than Alomar, Jr.
The starting rotation will win their way back, everyone has had plenty of time to rest up. Buerhle had one bad half season, forgiveable, same for Contreras. McCarthy looked phenomenal when he started back in '05, he'll have plenty of Ws. Garland has just been great for the last couple of seasons. Things are looking good for the bullpen too, I am happy with this offseason. Go Sox!

The white sox WILL be back to the world series with or without Toby Hall.

HE'S A BACK-UP TO A.J. PIERZYNSKI! He's lucky if he catches more than 40 games. And fyi...catcher's rarely steal bases...they throw baserunners out and Toby Hall has one of the better percentages for throwing out baserunners. This was a great signing for the White Sox......he is a quality back-up catcher and they signed him at a respectable price, I belive 2 years $3.5 million.

If the Chi Sox make it back to the World Series, it will be on the back of their pitching staff, not Toby Hall's bat, per se! So, no, he won't lead them, but he could be a contibuting member, should they get that far.

Are you being sarcastic? Hall is a good catcher, and is a better backup than most, but he's no star.

Are you kidding? I hope you're being facetious because if you're not you're deluisional.
That's the problem with baseball today even a bum can get 4M.
Yes, its one of the better deals ever made.

Who's Toby Hall?
