it loads up window xp then just shuts off,anyone help please.

Could be a 'low battery' power problem.
I assume it's 'plugged in' to the mains charger, however you should check the charger is actually delivering power !
At work the laptops are plugged into the floor sockets & the monitors into desktop sockets - one day a whole line of floor sockets blew and no-one noticed untill the laptops started powering off with 'low battery' warnings at lunch time :-) :-)

Try booting into Safe Mode. If that works, you have a problem with Windows.
