It is not a good idea. The 23 year old should know better. He could get in a whole lot of trouble doing that. You really need to stick to people your own age.

Now when you are 18 and you want to date or love someone who is 7 years older than you, go for it. Since you are a minor, you need to only date people your own age.

If you really love this 23 year old, you will not put them iona position where they are potentially breaking laws. People who love each other, don't intentionally do things that would get the other person in trouble.

Put the law aside, and I sitll don't think it is a really good idea. You need to focus on school and getting out of school. At 23 people are focusing on more serious relationships and most times even marriage. You don't need to be involved in a serious relationship, really at your age, you should just be casually dating and that DOES NOT include sex.

Also if this 23 year old really respects you, he won't date you, he will know better, NEVER waste your time on people who don't respect you.

I know personally for me at 16 I felt totally different about 'love' than I did at 23. I am not saying you can't love someone at 16 because in your mind and heart those feelings are certainly real. However, as you get older you will know how to better process those feelings and be a bit more realistic about your feelings for that person. If you are dating someone that old, what do you both have in common? Normally, a 23 year old is out of college and in the beginning of his/her career, while you at 16 are still in high school. :(

YES. Most will say that someone your age doesn't know what actual love is, but I think 16 yr olds can tell. Just make sure the guy (or girl) isn't using you. By the way, that can be constituted as statuatory rape in most states or contributing to delinquence of a minor. be careful you don't get the other person in trouble. That's not that much of an age difference. It only seems like it now because you are still young and underage.

yes, regardless of your age you are capable of having those feelings. the real question is does he love you? you may think that he loves you but your sadly mistaken what does a 23 year old man want with a 16 year old other than sex. your not old enough to go out and party or drink or even just kick it with his friends. i think that your capable of making good decisions and you should always do what is best for your self and your well being....

I think lust would be a better word, but please keep in mind that it doesn't make you really cool to be with a 23 year old, instead it makes him really sad.

There are also the statutory rape issues and such. Any self-respecting 23 year olds would keep you at not only an arm's length away, but further.
