When i click on counter-strike source icon to play, a window pops up saying "steam updating" but it only stays for a little bit and doesent load nothing it just stays it zero and it disapears. And i can't play css any help how can i install update manually or whats the problem.

I have this problem sometimes and it's causes by the mass amount of users trying to update steam. Be patient as it can take a few minutes. I've waited around 5 minutes for steam to update and I have a 1.5mb connection =)

Steam has to update itself. If you have a bad internet connection, that might be the problem. I use DSL and it works fine, but when I used crappy ol compuserve server, it didn't update or even start to load. That's what happened to me.
