My daughter is expecting a baby soon and I wanted to knit for it but unforuntately wool shops seem to be all but extinct. I would be grateful if anyone could tell me if there is anywhere in the Durham or Newcastle upon Tyne area where I could buy these.

John Lewis in Eldon square has a haberdashery.
There is a place in grainger market that does buttons and stuff.

Craft stores such as Michael's or Joann's. Discount stores such as Walmart. Online, you can order directly from some of the yarn manufacturers (Lion Brand), or you can go online to one of the catalog companies (Herschnerr's).
