I want to send an apology to my friends but I don't know if this is wierd or too formal. What do you think?

Dear Friends,

I'm sending this to all of you, and I know it is a long time coming. I write to apologize for potentially offending you when I deleted my facebook profile a few weeks ago abruptly without notifying any of you. This was inconsiderate on my part and I sincerely apologize for any offense taken and I truly hope that it does not affect any aspect of our friendship. I value each and every one of you and our friendship deeply and did not want to jeapordize that by leaving this unaddressed. I do not intend to put a profile back up, and I know that because of that, I have already and will soon lose contact with many of you. However, despite that, I want you all to know that I enjoyed and continue to enjoy my time with each and every single one of you. Though we may never see or even talk through the internet ever again, I hope you all know that I admire you and value our friendship and wish you all the best in the future. Again I am very sorry. Thank you.

That's just bizarre. Why do you think anyone cares? Frankly the importance you ascribe to it--and to yourself--sounds pretty arrogant.

OK, as far as I can figure out these are online "friends" that you cut things off with (by taking your profile down) without explanation and without saying goodbye. So why not actually address that? Say you're sorry you disappeared suddenly without explanation, but some things are going on and you're not going to be able to maintain a facebook profile. This is the goodbye you wish you'd had the chance to send before you took it down--it's been real, it's been fun, wish you all a great life.

I think that is an awesome letter; and take it from someone that holds a Master's Degree in Communications!

People are in each other's lives on a voluntary basis. I think you should send it to your friends, and real friends will ALWAYS stay in touch.

I have been out of HS for almost 15 years and my best friends are those I met there and we are still BFs to this day!

Wow! That's a great letter! You have excellent writing skills! You should work on this talent.

My rule on sending things like that is this: Consider how you would feel if you were reading it aloud in front of the person you intend it for.

If you still see you r friends, it shouldn't matter if you deleted a face party thing or not, they shouldn't have took it as harsh as they seem to have.

In relation to the question, re-write it, it is a wee bit formal.

If your "friends" get mad at you for deleting your facebook profile on the internet. Then they're not true friends in the first place.

Most of these people you never really new, I wouldn't worry about it. Send an email to the real friends, and stay in contact with them.

i dont think you even need to send an apology. your life. your facebook. your decision.

but if you must, it is kinda too formal. shorten it. tone it down. dont make it such a big deal.

Seems a little overdone and wordy to me, but the sentiment is nice. spell check it before you send - there are lots of spelling errors.
