I don't like the South African Accent. (And before all you SAF's get your knickers in a twist, I am South African myself!). I lost my accent really quickly once I moved to the UK. I love the Scottish and Irish accents. I even like the Welsh accent! I love the way they speak, its so soothing.

From what I understand the English look to love American accents besides. so sayeth my roommate who's English by skill of history and is going there rather many times. in my opinion i'm now no longer into accents...too plenty. perchance i recognize NYC and Jersey accents.

Yeah I like the way some scots sound, Ewan McGreggor, hmmm he's nice! and that man off sliding doors, he has a nice voice. Not a fan of Rab C Nesbit, is that Glasweigan?? I do have to say I like Barry's voice of Aufweidersen Pet, I know it's a bit drippy but I luv it! Oh and Noddy Holder lol. I like the Geordie accent too. I'm not a fan of the welsh accent, I'm welsh and we sound stupid, I think, like Cerys Mathews. Anthony Hopkins and Richard Burton sound nice but Catherine Zeta Jones does my head in. She is a bit stuck up for my liking!

Well it is one of those melodious accents that can be very pleasant to listen to or grate on the ears. I think it all depends on the speaker and their command of English. I also like the throaty sound of Spanish, and Cantonese - another very musical language.
