if you want convert .bmp format to .jpg format & you use windows operating system.
you can go to start tab in taskbar (click it) & then go to all programs tab, then accessories tab, then choose paint or go to start tab & choose run, then type "mspaint"(in win xp) or go to start tab and then accessories tab and then choose paint.
in paint program in the toolbar go to file and choose open(or push ctrl + o click) & open your pic.
then go to file and choose save as task.
in under the window that open in save as type section choose jpeg and choose your favorite name and click save button.
and then upload your pic in yahoo 360

Both are formats for storing files. bmp (bitmap) doesn't use any compression and can get quite large. jpg uses a fairly efficient compression algorithm to shrink the size of the file with very little difference in quality. They probably don't want bmp files so as to keep the size of the files small. Microsoft Paint (which comes with WIndows) will do the conversion for you. Open the bmp and then click on File, Save As and select jpg as the file type.

.bmp (bit map) and .jpg are two different formats of pictures (others are .gif, .psd, etc). The bmp files are much larger in size as compared to the .jpg which is why most uploads won't allow bmp.

Convert a bmp into a jpg by opening the bmp in MS Paint and then selecting 'Save As'. While saving, use the 'File Type' drop down to specify 'jpg' as the format.

jpg. and bmp. are different file formats. jpg. or JPEG is a compressed form, making the images smaller. bmp. or BITMAP is a larger file and can also host more colors then jpeg.

To change the files, the easiest way to do it is to open paint. When you go to save it, there should be a drop down menu that allows you to save it in the format you so desire.

They are just different formats for pictures. Try to google a program that can change bmp files into an jpg file.

They are both image formats, but a jpeg image uses compression to make the file size smaller.

You will need to use a graphics program to convert between the two. Depending on which operating system you are using, you should use either "Paint", "GIMP" or "Preview".

open the picture in MS Paint. (right click on the photo file and click open with and choose mspaint) when it's opened in paint click FILE and save as. under file name is a field named save as type. In that drop down box, select JPEG. This will save your bitmap image to jpeg so you can use it in your 360. Good luck :)
