it's a good movie and my boyfriend refuses to watch it with me :-(

Your right it is a great movie. My husband loves the movie he even bought the sound track. I think most men feel that it under minds there manhood to admit that they like a chick flick or musical, if its not toff its not a man movie but there is a lot of open minded men that love these style movies and won't have a problem watching it Hockey finishes at 10:00 Moulin Rouge at 10:10. :)

As regional delegate to the Man Council, I can tell you that your boyfriend is right to refuse, as Moulin Rouge is on the forbidden movie list. If he were to watch it, his Man credentials would be suspended for two weeks.

He's probably read the reviews or watch the movie before and knows that it sucks. This movie totally sucks and its like your on a tirade. Everything is out of balance, it makes you want to vomit. Try going out to the movie this month and see whats playing, so you and your boyfriend can have a great time.

Some of us liked the movie. I had fun picking out all of the song references from the past couple of decades. I thought it was cool to look at, and some of the women were very hot.
It is a love story with a sad ending, and some men can like that without shedding a tear (I leave that to the ladies). So, talk bad about it if you want, but real men aren't afraid to watch any movie and like it...

Guys will be guys and real guys will never be gays. That movie is swishy. Tell you the truth, my wife also did not like it. It is a confusing, disturbing movie. It sucked big time. We watched it in cable tv and 30 minutes into the movie I switched the channel and my wife and son were relieved. We watched my Simpsons DVD collection instead. Now that is a family show!

Okay---first, just because your boyfriend doesn't want to watch it doesn't mean that all guys don't like it. I have a very straight, manly friend who adores this movie.

1) He may think it's a stupid musical (which it isn't)
2) He may think it's a chick flick (which it kinda is, but not really)
3) He may think it may be too cerebral or needs more explosions (it is a movie that requires attention, but you can't live on a diet of "Die Hard" forever)
I like it myself, but I had to see it a couple of times to readjust myself to this non-traditional musical
