Because there is so much information on the web. People have made sure there are websites to fit everyone's likes and dislikes. If someone finds a site they like, chances are they'll spend a bunch of time on there because they enjoy playing the games, or reading the articles. It's the vast stores of information and fun the internet has to offer.

well people used to go out during the week and go food shopping at TESCO/SAINSBURYS, etc or maybe go post some letters and then go and pay phone/gas/electric bills etc, or goto a photo shop and get their holiday films developed or go watch a movie at cinema or get dvd out from BLOCKBUSTERS etc. NOW all these things can (if wanted to) be done on computer and plenty more things besides. so the internet is responsable for turning some people into hermits if they're not carefull. that is why people can spend so much time on computers.

Because computers and the Internet offer an unlimited amount of entertainment. You can communicate with friends, meet new people, play games, write, etc.

Because you enjoy it like you may be on and then next thing you know that one hour passes thats normal it just means that you enjoy it and that time flies for you when you are online.
