Swarthy girls seem to have a low estimation about themselves and they all have a liking for the fair-skinned guys. May be something to do with racial memory. Dark skin is the result of a long exposure to the sun. The lowly and the meek who do menial jobs for the high brow acquire the black pigments and the profession becomes hereditary, the lowly people acquire the colour by inheritance. Hence, the dark skin the inferiority complex go with the lowly people.

Most of them have an inferiority complex. It a culturall thing where darker skinned indians are considered inferior.
Not all Indian men are obsessed with fair skinned women though. Especially the younger generation.

Ya i know..i see that a lot today..well in bollywood movies mostly cuz u see all these songs where they go to da states n canada n they show only white people...n i know for a fact that canada is very multicultural so wut is dat about? i guess da statement is more of a generalization saying that all indian men r like dat..which is probably not true...may be some. I think it has to do with the history of the caste system n how people r raised in india to think dat if u r fair u r better than every1...also media endorses that concept on the society like da fair n lovely ads...when she was dark no one notices her n once she is fair, she is all popular!! i dont know i might be wrong...but dats my 2 cents... good question though

whenever anyone uses the word 'all' or even 'most' my antenna go up. all Indian men are not obsessed with whiter women, but many are because the culture has reinforced that upon them. even dowries are higher for darker women than fair skinned. but i happen to be a white guy american married to a brown skin indian who i adore more than oxygen. go figure

It is an issue in a lot of places the world that light skinned people are considered more desirable that darker skinned ones. Stupid but it's there.

It is not always true. I love dark skinned women. They are as beautiful as any fair skinned women. I am an Indian man. :-)

they want the coming generations to be all fair skinned. do you know they even hate on their dark skinned indian brothers. they call them the outcasts and the unholy ones.

Because of the twisted society we live in...Everyone wants to be "white"...yes it is very stupid. If things continue to go on this way and we let the media influence our choices on what's considered beautiful or ugly we will have a one race world..Everyone will be white...and that would be boring.

well in my experience i'm fair skinned and indian guys have always had a thing for me, feeling has never been mutual though

They do if they are not drunk. After few drinks,black,white,fat ,ugly,small big,married,single all are same.We are not racist.
