Sacrifice is the same as killing an animal for food. Most countries around the world have some type of animal sacrificial tradition. Its to symbolize when god let I think it was some great prophet his name escaped my mind sacrifice a ram instead of his son. They do not burn the animal of anything they say a prayer to bless the goat, cow (not pig) and painlessly slice its neck with one cut. If they do not kill it with one cut its not Halal (Kosher for Muslims) and it should not be eaten. Then the animal is eaten or given to Charity never sold. In Saudi Arabia they have a huge festival where the sacrifice thousands of lambs and send it around the world for charity. Remember the animal is eaten and in not tortured or burned like you inferred.

I agree that this is sickening. i'm a vegetarian and a Peta member so I hate listening to issues like this. besides the actuality that i are conscious of it is not merely what you seen to be "uncivilized" countries that harm and make the main animals. North united statesa. is merely as responsible whilst it involves animal cruelty yet for some reason we opt to look any incorrect way. I even have unquestionably no longer something against meat eaters. What bothers me the main are people who placed on fur to make a fashion assertion. I hate animal sacrifices yet there are religions that strongly have self assurance in it and who am I to decide whilst it involves a concept of yet somebody else. yet to placed on a lifeless animal in hopes of looking favourite sickens me.

Dude do u have a brain? Surely not, sicko!
People all over the world eat meat.. whats that MURDER? wake up, muslims dont kill endangered species or anything.. its just a religious rite in which a cow, lamb, camel, goat is slaughtered either at the slaughter-house or at the house (according to government rules) each year.
It's the same thing that happens 24x7x365 the world over..
For the Muslims, this slaughter turns to a sacrifice when they repeat the act of Abraham when he was about to sacrifice his son for God and God put a lamb in place of Abraham's son which he sacrificed to seek God's goodwill...
This is just a repetition of that sacrifice, celebrated on the 10th Zil-Haj (according to Lunar Calendar).
Now with the increasing rates of these animals (cows, buffaloes, goat, sheep, camels) due to increase in various commodities that directly or indirectly effect these prices, various organizations have now taken the responsibility to provide these sacrificial animals at reduced rates, in fact i think this is indeed a welcome idea to advertise about them online so that more and more people are able to perform this religious duty with a considerable ease.
And PLEASE just dont post cr@p about anything that u are not aware of.. these stupid stuff about 'murdering animals' is insane.. see a mental doctor..

I see livestock offered all of the time on the internet. Meat is tasty, therefore humankind eats it. They may be offered especially for sacrifice, but are animals not "sacrificed" every day for regular Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, and other people of different beliefs?

That is so gross! What kind of animals? Is that what people actually think? That by killing a innocent animal the lord will be pleased? Wow. Some people. Different strokes for different folks.
