It's not you. I felt the same way earlier this month. With all the news of war and unrest in the Middle East, the poor in our own cities it's easy not to join the celebration. Forget the decorations, try buying a toy for one of the various toy drives, volunteer at the homeless shelter, and visit a nursing home. You'd be surprised how therapeutic giving a little can be.

Unfortunately its not just you. I'm can't seem to get into the Christmas spirit either. I didn't put lights up on my house this year and i haven't even wrapped the presents. I even had a fit going shopping for the presents. If the Santa in the mall Ho Ho Ho's at me one more time i'm going to take my shoe off and chunk it at him. Some of the problem may be thats its a sunny 78 degrees in the middle of December. Well even though the Christmas spirit isn't their have a Merry Christmas anyways.

OK-I thought it was just me. But with the warm weather in VA (remember when it snowed at Christmas) working for the govt and being reminded all the time "say Happy Holidays or you will offend someone or get us sued", the Christmas spirit isnt the same. But then I shop for my son and other family and make a big deal about finding the perfect gifts (for the person, not based on how much spent) I feel more of the spirit. But it is tough at times.

Because Christmas starts early November in all the stores, we put it to the back of our minds, then suddenly it is upon us once again, the same as the last 20 yrs. Found any shops selling Easter eggs yet?

It doesn't seem like christmas to me either. Each year it seems less and less important to me. I don't think I am a scrooge. I just think its more for the kids, and I don't have any.

It seems to me like it came a lot faster this year. Maybe because my sons (4 yrs and 20 months) are very excited about it.

It don't seem like Christmas because everything is to expensive and Rich people don't want to donate the money to the needy which is one of the reason's for the season. The very important person that is reason for the season is Jesus.

No, I totally know what you mean. I'm usually a bit of a Scrooge, and really don't like Crimbo, but it doesn't feel like Xmas at all this year. Weird, innit?

Chancer, that wasn't nice. Maybe true, but not nice anyway! :)
I considering the lateness, there must be a reason. Maybe you are a little stressed out, or feeling out of it for some reason. Also, maybe it is your year to get a late or no-show start. Hard to know.
Maybe you can get started, doing a little at a time. That would be better than anything, I suspect.
Take care, and I hope things turn around. This is just too special a day to be left out!
