I am asian and my animal is a butt of a dog, a head of a pig. I was born in January 83 but Chinese New Year started in February. anyways. My husband is a pig. I am pregnant and the baby is due aug 07 which is the year of the pig. Is this bad luck? Someone told me that when you have the same animal in the family...one has to die. Is that true?

That is not true. Whomever you heard that thing from obviously do not know the chinese horoscope.
The animals used are just to help people relate to the horoscope better. Chinese horoscope actually used the heavenly stem and earthly branches.
But to teach the commoners better, the wise men used animals that the people can remember better, especially farm animals or dangerous animals.
What is important to see the eight characters (i.e. the time, day, month) to see if the family members get along one another.
If what your friend say is true, then all twins, triplets and etc wouldn't survive past their adolescent.
