Yeah, that tends to happen. Don't make a big deal about it though, and just ask your friend why he's being such an ***, and eventually the whole thing will blow over... especially if you are in high school or middle school. It's just a bunch of drama that you'll have to deal with if you continue to press on the matter. Honestly, I know from this same sort of experience, only that I'm a dude, and a girl did this to me. I just ask her, confronted her and well things blew over and we remained friends.
