I had prior experiance with merchandising for dollar general, setting up seasonal merchandise, doing resets and displays. I loved doing this kind of work and would like to know what to do or where to go to make it a carreer?

Hey....I am not sure where you are located, but I'm assuming somewhere in the U.S. I am in Michigan and work for a food broker, so I'm quite familiar with resets, merchandising, etc. There are many merchandising opportunities within different retailers I'm sure. You can also work for a company like my friend works for, called Ready Set Service (readysetservice.com)...I'm sure there is more like it too. She works for a company that basically merchandises different sets in Home Depot stores. Changes out plan-o-grams, etc. I've dealt with this years back when I did floor sets at Victoria's Secret when I worked there and now at the food broker in places like Meijer and Spartan Stores. Anyways, try searching the net for merchandising type companies in your area. Also search local retailers. I'm sure you can find something & as far as making a career out of it...well if you work up to manager level, you can make it a career. Sometimes these type of jobs are done on night shifts when the stores may not be as busy, but you may find some day hours too...my friend is on day hours. Good luck & email me if you need anything else :)
