There were reports of her drinking underage before she turned 21 this week. I agree her personal life is that...personal but there was documented reports of underage drinking on cnn.com and mentioned in the press confrence Donald Trump and The Miss USA pagent gave earlier this morning. Just and FYI

Tough call. With all the prestige bestowed upon the title of Miss U.S.A. it's disheartening to see "The Donald" turn the other cheek when he has evidence of his crown-wearer breaking the law because of the message it sends to young people. On the other hand, Tara has a reasonable explanation for how she got into the party scene -- heck, she's not the first underage female to get caught up in that mess and she won't be the last, she appears to be remorseful, and she did agree to go to rehab. So in another sense, you could say that Trump acknowledged the fact that she is human and made a mistake but is sorry for it (or at least seems to be) and is willing to make amends. I think ol' Donny-Boy did it more for PR reasons than anything else, and if there was more of an anti-Tara sentiment floating around he would have taken her crown away in a heartbeat.

P.S.: There has been a lot of comparison between Tara and Vanessa Williams, and a lot of people are pointing toward racism because Vanessa lost her crown. OK, let's take a look: First of all, Vanessa relinquished her crown of her own free will. Sure, you could say she was pressured to do so, but consider the reasons why she would have been pressured to hand her crown over. Here was our Miss U.S.A., on the pages of Penthouse magazine, naked as the day she was born, in a lesbian photo spread. Is THAT appropriate? Come on. Even today, when there is a lot more tolerance for homosexuality, she STILL would have lost her crown one way or another for pulling a stupid stunt like that. And has anyone noticed how it just ruined her life? We all see how it hampered her careers in modeling, in music, and in the public eye. Gee, I bet she REALLY regrets having to hand over her crown...

The whole thing is crappy. She is no different than others. She is actually 21 when she was drinking. She turned 21 that day she was drinking. She wanted to have a good time. What about Brittany Spears, Hilton, and Richie? They go on a wild night almost every night lately. They are supposed to be role models for young girls but tabloids want to put it all on Miss America.

OMG! You've got me rowded up about the whole thing. Grrr.

First off she was not drinking underage, she had turned 21 the day she had this little 'incident'. Secondly, yes Miss USA is to be held at a higher standard she is a role model for all women regardless of age, however, her personal life is hers and hers alone, not the nationals, not Donald Trumps and certainly not the pagent coordinators.

What she did may have been inappropriate, but how many of you have gone out and acted inapporpriate on your 21st birthday....hell I know I did!

She portrays what other people in other countries think about us. We have it all and still can't be happy.

If they do drug testing and she is caught, she has to go, that's why they have a back up. She must be doing "the Don" for him to keep her. Not that a beauty contest mans much (except to those involved) but she is representing America and it looks like shes a crack head to the outside world!

If you look like a bar fluzie, act like a bar fluzie, show yourself off like a bar fluzie concerned only with material possessions and looks, then you probably are a fluzie.

Besides, what kind of example are we setting to younger girls by promoting materialism and promiscuous behaviour and appearance? A fluzie example.

well, I have seen several questions on this topic, but did not know what her offense was, now I know, and I must say, she is not the best role model for my children.
