I have an ACER TravelMate 2450, and it crashes at the same second, i plug some kind of USB device in it. Does anyone know what the problem is, and how to fix it?

btw, the Cpr does not crash, when I am in the computer bios, and plug in.

turn it off before you plug it in.then you should be ok when you turn back on.

Sounds like you're using Microsoft Windows - it has real trouble handling USB devices. The same thing can happen to Windows if you remove a USB device.

By crash, I expect you are getting a "blue screen of death"? You'll need to note down the information from this bluee screen, and do a search on the specific information provided there.

Most likely it will be a "device driver" issue.

Nowadays, most external devices are conveniently connected to a computer using the USB ports. Some USB devices like flash drives should only be removed after stopping it, otherwise the USB device may be damaged and data lost. Do you have multiple USB ports? If so does it do it in every port? Is this the first time you used this USB device? what OS are you running , XP? Without the usb plugged in is there any warnings indicated in your hardware device manager? You can Try a BIOS upgrade that fixes most of the compatibility issues.

put the p c in to safe moad un plug all usb . do a scan disk & defrag

do a antivirus scan the same time / restart & then plug in ya usb s

p s set ya defrag to fix errors& ya scan disk if it will

if ya dont know to put ya p c in safe moad

press f8 at startup

Delete the USB bus drivers and let Windows re-detect them.
