PBS had a great special on the insurgency. Some british or aussie reporter was allowed to follow the insurgents. Several times other Muslims wanted to kill him because he was a non-muslim (Kafir/infidel/dhimmi) but his guides insisted that their bargain be honored.

Behind the lines, the "insurgents", if you must call them that, were firing mortars while other Muslim villagers calmly walked by them. The insurgents payed them no attention. Not for a moment were they worried about being fingered. Essentially, the Iraqis are the insurgents and the insurgents are the Iraqis.

This is all Jeckyl and Hyde foolery. A Muslim shop keeper smiles at you by day, and shots at you by night. Idealogically, only a handful are educated enough to desire anything the west can offer. Its true, they didnt want Saddam, but this didnt mean they wanted anything from us.

Polls show quite clearly that they hate us. Not just Bush...but US. Go beyond small talk with any Muslim in America and its the same.

hey buddy many you should realize that 95% of the people love us. Polls are stupid and can almost never be true. I have been on a 1 year tour of Iraq and I have to say that they all love us. Oh and that Jeckyl and Hyde foolery thats called guerilla warfare and we have now learned how to easily combat it.

Don't believe the media just ask someone who has put their life on the line over there.

I believe the definition of an insurgent is a civilian who is trying to overthrow the lawfully consituted government. The means of overthrow could be peaceful or not, though usually not. When the local Iraqis fought us we called them insurgents. When muslims from other countries joined in we called them terrorists. When the local Iraqis started fighting each other (sometimes with outside assistance) then it became a civil war.

There are alot of civilians that want peace. There are also those like you saw on TV that would like to "finger" the insurgents, but when they do, their families then end up one of the many you here about showing up on the streets killed execution style. Only there is no style about it. That is exactly how they die. So you wonder why the villagers walk calmly by. I guarentee they are not as calm as you believe. And for your small talk, that is like going up to a few white folks and asking if they like any other race. Should their answers speak for the race? I don't believe so. Instead of watching TV to come to your conclusions, come walk the streets of Iraq and witness real TV (TRUE VISION)!

An insurgent is a civilian who is loved by his countrymen because he is a freedom fighter.

A civilian is someone whose plight was created by the invading forces and exploited to take even more advantage.

Both insurgent and civilian can morph into the other role when the situation warrants to be of benefit to thier own cause.

"Insugent" is the west's name for anyone of the native country who fights against the west. To some they would be labeled "Freedom Fighters" depending on which side you were on.

For example in today's lexicon, had the american government been attempting to establish rule in north america Crazy Horse would be a native insurgent whereas as many of his people would call him a freedom fighter.

IT IS A DANGEROUS RELIGION. A MUSLIM'S FIRST ALLEGIANCE, WHETHER DOMESTIC OR FOREIGN, IS TO ALLAH AND WILL NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, TURN THE BAD GUYS IN. VERY SIMILAR TO CONDITIONS IN MANY OF OUR CITIES. THE PEOPLE COMPLAIN TO HIGH HEAVEN ABOUT THE KILLING AND CRIME IN THEIR OWN BACK YARDS BUT WOULDN'T TELL THE COPS ANYTHING IF THEIR LIVES DEPENDED ON IT. ALL TOO OFTEN IT DOES.
THE PALESTINIANS GOT TIRED OF KILLING "INFIDELS" AND NOW ARE KILLING EACH OTHER IN THEIR OWN LITTLE CIVIL WAR. WHO CAN SERIOUSLY EXPECT THESE RAGHEADS TO EVER ADOPT PEACE. ITS NOT IN THEIR GENES. IF AN ALTERNATIVE FUEL TOOK OVER FROM OIL, NOBODY WOULD TALK TO THEM.
