I work for £5.10 an hour doing a million and one things at once- I work for river island. my wage has never gone up and I have been there way over a year.
They dont do bonuses.
I do alot of over time and work anywhere from 4 to 30 hours a week,
My job is long and boring, and usually freezing cold as the manager insists we have the shop doors wedged wide open as otherwise customers complain we look shut (despite the shop being filled with customers shopping) dont get paid for the breaks I "HAVE" to take on 6,7,8,9, or 11 hour shifs.
I dont get a bonus.
My job entails greating every customer with a grin and asking them how I can help. I have to run changing rooms, shoes, stock room or tills- or stand at the front of the store near the open doors for 8 plus hours at a time, acting as a security guard catching thieves. If I fail to do any of these and customers or mystery shoppers mention it, I get told off. If I do well and get mentioned by a shopper or mystery shopper, I MAY get a £10 river island gift voucher. The clothes are too expensive for me to afford anyway.
Idont get a bonus
No I am not 16, I am 25 and live alone so have to work to pay bills. I do have a degree but as I have no experience, cannot get into visual design.
I dont get a bonus.
Christmas eve from 7pm to (last year) 10.30 pm is compulsary. Dont even ask about new years.
I don t get a bonus
I am in 2500 debt, ignoring the fact I have 16000 in student loan to pay back when I do get a decent job.
know anyone looking for staff??

OK so after reading all the other responses, I feel like I have it made.
I work for a couple attorneys and well my bonus was $500.00 more but it was taxed. I have to say that I am a lot more appreciative than I was before this question.

when I was 15 years old, I worked for a brewery company and at Christmas we all got 'double wages' , I earned £2. 12 shillings per week, so I got £5. 4 shillings, which I think these days , works out just under £6.

A paper BOX
with the Company's advertizement on it, I threw it in the garbage and my manager came by and said I had to keep it on my desk.
I would have rather gotten the 5 bucks
Ps the year before that was a company pen that didn't Write.
Oh and they are a Huge corporation, National, and its a Health insurance company. We're talking Billions Billions and I gotta have a reminder of the BS Box staring me in the face,
She pulled it out of the Garbage and stuck it on my desk.
What Crap, even UPS gets a turkey.

None, I have only had one position that I was given a Holiday Bonus and it was a picture frame. It is my understanding that according to research many companies have gone away from bonuses for just this reason - ingratitude- your employer has already given you a job and was kind enough to remember you with a holiday token. I'd say you are luckier than you think. Chin up and remember to drop the boss a thank you for their thoughtfulness.

bonus: something given or paid over and above what is due. This is the definition according to dictionary.com.
The idea here is that you aren't OWED a bonus. It's something given above and beyond your salary. I hate to be the downer in your pity party, but stop being ungrateful. At least your bosses gave you something.

A few years ago, a company I worked for gave out $5.00 gift cards to a seafood place. The cheapest item on the menu is about $15.

SHILLINGS??? 1843? Are you Bob Cratchit ? Did you expect to get a bonus to provide some slight provision for the poor and destitute who suffer greatly at this time of year?
'Bah humbug, I say. Let me hear another sound from you, and you'll keep your Christmas by losing your situation.'
