i used to be a joiner/carpenter years ago but after many more years getting messed around/fed up of rain (u have to work in most weather) not to mention the fetching/carrying & constant aches & pains (& u will get many!) i decided to call it a day. my mate still does it but im a trucker now & on twice as much as him (not to mention all cosy in my cab lol) im not trying to put u off tho. there was good times & at least u will have a skill behind you like i do (i still do little jobs 4 mates at the weekends etc) & when the sun (eventually) shines, theres nothing better than being on the roof or doing joist work. watch ur tools as well as there r some right thieving gits about! i had over 2k worth of stuff pinched once! good luck which ever career u take

I know an artisan who makes unique items from wood. If you have a good imagination and know how to appeal to people that pop into your store I'm positive you'll be be going Ho Ho Ho during the holiday season when you open your cash register.

Check with the carpenters union in your area for apprenticeships . . .
good $$ in anything comes from being highly skilled . Apprenticeship is where you learn it .
