Because it's easier to maintain a good buzz. When we drink whiskey, we're too drunk by lunch, and pass out for our afternoon classes.

The ones that do are allowed to. To my understanding, you can't become a teacher until you are 21 anyway, so they'll be legal. As long as they don't do it in front of the kids or at the school, I don't see the problem.

The problem with drinking has never been the drinking itself (or we would have just as much of a problem with milk or water or juice or soda), but with the actions that generally follow drinking too much. As long as the teacher doesn't do those things, what is the difference if they have a cold one now and again?

Because teacher's went to college for a number of years, and it is their taste of preference. Teacher's like to discuss their anger with the lack of preparation students and parents have with each other. And there's nothing better than chatting over a beer with a fellow worker (if you're 21+).

Because they are human and are allowed the same rights, within limits, as others have! Hopefully they will use their common sense to have good judgment in amounts they drink and discretion about where and how often they drink.
