Same here. Free stuff is good to me as well. And the thought just makes it better.

Actually, I'm not a really great present receiver, unless it's something I specifically asked for. I wind up with stuff I don't want and don't need, that I'm going to have to find a place for and haul around the next time we move. And it bugs me that someone threw money away on something just because they felt some obligation to give a gift. I tell my family one or two small things that I would really appreciate, and to PLEASE not buy stuff just to buy it, but inevitably they still send random stuff. You could say it's the thought that counts, but usually all this stuff does is emphasize that there was no thought involved--it's clothes that I would never wear in a million years, in random sizes, or really really weird random stuff that nobody would ever actually want. The message is, "Here's a gift I resented having to go to the trouble to buy you, so I didn't try too hard and just grabbed something they had pre-wrapped by the cash register."
My husband tends to buy me things I already own, apparently on the theory that I must like it if I bought it already. But it's things that no one would have two of.

I don't care about getting them really. It is nice to have a surprise but other people dont think about thing I would like as much as I think about what they would like, so I like giving and having a good feeling inside then opening and not having a great feeling.

That people thought of me when they were buying Cristmas presents, I never really care about the gift itself, just the thought (unless its something just horrible)

I like that someone took the time to find something for me, and thought of me. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Awwww.
