One of two things -- either you'd pee involuntarily after the pressure building up in your bladder exceeded your sphincter muscle's ability to resist and keep it in, OR, if your sphincter muscle was strong enough, your bladder would eventually relax and the urine would back up and accumulate in your kidneys (hydronephrosis). In addition to being extremely painful, this would NOT be good for your health as the pressure could quickly build up to levels that would cause kidney damage and toxins to build up in your bloodstream.
The bladder is made of 3 different layers of smooth muscle tissue, so under normal circumstances simply filling it up would not create sufficient pressure to cause it to rupture -- one of the above two scenarios would happen first. However, an over-distended bladder can be ruptured rather easily if there is trauma to the lower abdominal area, and in that case the urine would spill out into the lower abdomen and likely cause peritonitis, a severe or possibly fatal infection of the lining of the abdominal cavity. Again, NOT a good thing.
Hopefully this will give you enough incentive to just go when you need to go!!

No your bladder will not explode. If you hold it long enough (and I mean a very long time) then the muscle that holds ur pee in relaxes and the pee will come out.

No. Actually, if you are unable to urinate as in some instances of men with prostate problems who cannot pee and will not seek help, the urine fills your bladder backs up into your kidneys and causes hydronephrosis then your BUN (blood urea nitrogen) goes up and all kinds of crazy things start happening because of the increase in waste circulating in your blood. The elderly men who do this get really confused, there abdomen is largely distended. They develop hemmorhages in their bladder because of the urine they are holding. It can get pretty crazy. When you cath them, you end up with a bloody urine return.
The largest amount of urine I have ever catheterized off of a man who couldnt urinate because of obstruction by his prostate was 3 3/4 liters. We took the urine off over a period of time approx 800 ml at a time. He felt much better, and his confusion cleared up over about 2 days. He actually looked a little yellow if I remember right. Bless his heart, it was crazy. He couldnt pee and was trying to empty his blader in his bathtub at home. He was such a sweetie.

Apart from pissing yourself you could end up with a UTI - bladder infection, it's not safe to hold waste that the body is trying to eliminate!

your body will make you pee eventually....it's best to obey your bladder and go when it needs to go or else you will end up having an accident out in public

When I have held it too long eventually the feeling of needing to go goes away....but this can cause damage to your kidneys in the long run.
