I’m not seeing one group of relatives for Christmas until Dec. 26th and really don’t want to spend money on gifts. I’m thinking since I have to throw the live tree out after Christmas anyway it will make a nice gift for them. They also live more of a country/wooded area so they can just toss in the woods once it completely dies. Plus, they normally don’t take their own tree down until after New Years so they will have TWO (2) Christmas trees on display for at least a week. Not too many folks can say they have two trees. My question(s), is this a proper gift and should I leave the tinsel on it for them?

HOLY $HIT!!! That is the best damn idea I have ever heard. Now I know what to give my in-laws for Christmas - My old tree.

Thanks for the great idea!!!

It would be an easy way to get rid of it, without you having to take it off somewhere. I would leave the tinsel on it, why would you take away from the beauty. It isn't like you will use it again next year anyway. Have a Merry Christmas.

You're cheap! That's an insult. You're saying that your relatives are not important to you. We spend our money on the things that are important to us. You may as well not even bother giving them anything. That would be more tactful.

Lousy gift. No way would I accept it! Don't be so cheap.

Buy them a basket of fruit or cheeses and sausages.

... lol ... that's funny ... I've never thought about that one ... we usually just throw them all in a huge pile at our dirt bike track - set about 4 or 5 of them on fire and jump through the flames for fun ... !
