How is Calculus 3 compared to calculus 1 and 2?...how is it similar or different?...How will it be for someone who got A's in the previous calc courses vs. someone who got B's?...What is the best advice to succeed in this course?

Calc 3 takes it into 3 dimensions. I liked that, since it seemed much more useful (especially if you're going into something like manufacturing). Drawing the graphs can be difficult, though (and takes good visualization skills).

It is different; you basically start-over with multivariable calculus instead of single-variable. I really enjoyed it, and I didn't think it was too hard. Much easier than Calc 2, in my opinion.

@ ironduke8159: You covered transforms and impulses in Calc 3!? We didn't use those until Diff Eq's and Linear Algebra.

@ mayi o: I guess it depends on your learning style. D.E. took a LOT more memorization (like series in calc 2), and linear algebra was very abstract, whereas Calc 3 was mostly conceptual. Calc 3 is also tied much more closely to physics.

Calculus 3 is harder because ther are many proofs required, some of which are very hard to understand. So it takes lot's of study. But if you got A's in Calc 1 and 2, you should have no problem. There is a lot of new interesting concepts such as LaPlace Transforms, Curls, Impulse functions, Fourier Transforms, etc.

The calculus courses a million-3 are sequential. concepts build from one class to the subsequent. the least puzzling thank you to understand the concern is to take each and each of the courses in sequence, getting to know eaching subject rely as you pass when you consider which you will build on them interior the subsequent class. of direction you will forget approximately some subjects and could desire to study whilst curiously back in a diverse type. in case you're quite gifted in math and intensely disciplined on your examine and have oodles of time to learn skipped subjects once you like them you may desire to, basically could desire to, be waiting to skipp calc 2. yet i does not advise doing so.

It's kinda cool. It's more visual than Calc II, and easier than Calc II in my opinion, but more fun than Calc I I think.

you got to be kidding me, calc III is way harder than calc II! and all you know it. if you get Bs in calc I and II and had some trouble, youll prolly end up with C or D in calc III .
i like math a lot, but still sucked in calc III.
on the otherhand, DFQs and linear algebra is twelve times easier.

wtf r u kids smoking??????????????

calculus 3 incorperates much more multivariable equations unlike the variable and bivariable equations in calc1&2.
