Is it just the iris (around the pupil) that has become cloudy? That is a gram-negative bacterial infection. He may be blind, or just unable to see due to the cloudiness. Treat with Amoxicillin -or- Gentamycin.

If the entire eye is cloudy from the inside out, that sounds like it might be a parasite... or it could just be a more severa bacterial infection. If you see signs of parasites, treat with De-Los. The eye may be lost.

Many bacterial infections are the direct result of poor water conditions. Ensure that your tank is big enough and clean enough (check ammonia and nitrite levels - and be sure to do weekly water changes of 30%).

Anyway, hope he recovers! Good luck with him!
