There are many reptiles you could get, I'd sugest a snake since they can't actually run, im not trying to make a joke. If you have the space boas are good, they just like to hang around on you and stuff, and mine has never tried to slither away from me, I'm going to guess pythons are pretty good to get to, though I've never owned one. whatever you choose make sure you do the research before you buy, I'm 14 and my first reptile that I've ever been completely responsible for is my Coloumbian Red Tailed Boa, hes awesome! and sometime this week im going to have 1 or 2 crested geckos =) I'm so excited. Anyways good luck!!!! Reptiles are the awesomest!! (yes, I know it's not a word)

all reptiles will run away from you unless they have been handled well in advance . don't forget that they have a natural instinct to run away from predators my best advice for you is to get a young one .i find the best time to handle them is in a morning before they've warmed up as they used the heat and light like a natural charger the more it heats up the more energy. its a bit like a battery lol this way its not going to be bouncing about everywhere and less likely to hurt itself plus it will get use to being handled .offer it food from your hand talk to it and gently stroke it like you would a cat or dog they like it just as much good luck on your choice .also just a little advice if you do get one pls don't use heat rocks as they can badly burn the reptile severely

It depends what you like but if your looking for something that is calm and just chills with you when you take it out then the best reptile would be a African Fat tail gecko..their adorable too. Much like leopard geckos they eat and do everything else the same but they are much more docile. I have one and he just chills with me on my bed watching TV with me. He never try's to run away cuz he's so calm. I love him, he's much calmer then my leopard gecko.

We have an Iguana named Iggy(how original) he doesn't run away he just hangs out on the back of the couch and watches t.v. with us. We let him have his turn with the remote every once in a while so that he doesn't get frustrated. Good luck.

We used to bave a big turtle named Becky. She was pretty big, so I think she was quite old...she hung out in our backyard and never went anywhere outside our yard...we had a hard time finding her every once in a while, but we'd find her eventually. She was the size of a cat...at first our cats thought she was a rock, so when she moved it scared them, then they would try to play with her, but she would just tuck up in her shell. After a while they left her alone.

A turtle couldn't run very fast. If you are a bit timid, it would be nice to get used to handling a turtle before you moved to a faster type of animal.
