i think Damascus is the oldest city

The oldest city we know of (at large) is Ur in ancient Sumeria (present day Iraq); the oldest currently occupied city is some place in China that I can't remember how to spell; the oldest occupied city today not in China is probably Damascus or some mud-hut settlement in Oman or Iran.

Tough call.

Jericho is the oldest, but it is not in the same location. Damascus is the oldest in the same location.
