Who's really discracing the concept of marriage?
Gay people, famous people or the people who use divorce like a bus pass? Catch one ride, when's that's done, get on another. Who should the government truly go after? If their gonna stop anybody from getting married. Because I don't think gay people are the one's wrecking marriage.

The government should stay out of people's personal lives PERIOD. I'm a true believer of separation between church and state.

I think plenty of people still believe in the values of marriage, but I think it has been devalued by a number of things. These days you can get married anywhere - bungy jumping if you want, drive thru marriages, etc. When it is that easy to get married, it becomes less of a big deal to do so, and it's also very easy to get divorced these days too. People don't really enter into marriage for life as it was intended.

So no, it's not gays, although gay marriages do push society a little further away from the traditional once again, which does devalue marriage a little more. I have nothing against it personally, but if you think about the reality of gay marriage versus the way things were 50 years ago, the world is a very different place.

When something becomes too easy to obtain and widely available with no restrictions, it is bound to be devalued. Look at University degrees. Once they were only for the elite, and would guarantee a good job. Nowadays, they are ten a penny - anyone can get one doing just about anything, and it guarantees you nothing. I think marriage has gone the same sort of way.

The concept of marriage is what is ruining marriage. Marriage is not about loving someone a whole lot. It's about providing for a family. Children need a mother and father. The government has always given benefits to people who are involved in building up strong communities. Strong communities make strong cities, which make strong states, which make a strong country. If you want a strong counrty, you have to start in the home. So it's not about persecuting gays. It's about procreation. Any couple that has extramarital sex are disgracing the concept of marriage. Anyone who gets divorced for reasons other than say abuse and infidelity disgrace the concept of marriage. Any young unwed pregnant woman who has an abortion or decides to raise the child herself rather than considering adoption. The list of seemingly normal activities goes on and on.

God ordain marriage and marriage is a good thing. Now, people are the ones that have taken something beautiful and turned it in to something ugly. It's all about committed yourself to one person preferably a male and female. I'm sorry to anyone that is gay but God meant for marriage to be between a man and a woman. So when we try to do it any other way we step out of his intent. The government can't regulate this.....it's the people that make it bad. If two people when they get married would learn to work things out instead of running every time something doesn't go their way. We are very blessed that we live in a world where you can actual choose who you married verses the bibles days when you were promise to someone without considering how you might feel about them.

Wow! Good question. I don't think gays are the ones "ruining" marriages either. Honestly, I think it's the people who get married and either don't stay married long or they'll divorce right away. Then they'll be married again before the ink dries on the last divorce papers. It doesn't have to be celebrities or gays in general. I mean, anyone can ruin a marriage as fast as a celeb can. No one really takes vows serious these days, and that's a shame.

So just exactly how long is it supposed to take for your house to be move in ready? You mean to say that your marriage can't hold up for a few months while the work is being done on the house? If not then your marriage was in trouble before the work began. Take a blanket and go christen the new house.

It's not any ONE type of person's fault, I feel. It's many things. The family scene seems to be falling apart, adults torturing their young, or the young of others. There are no family loyalties, no family clique's any longer. It's all one big soap opera.
We see all that on the tv, and in movies, and we think that's normal. We don't even have Christmas any longer. And churches aren't the main hub of society. All the things that brought us together is deteriorating.
Families in crisis need counseling, not during the divorce to dictate what they can and cannot say in front of the children. Talking it out could help a lot. That, and making the grownups act like grownups, instead of tantrums and just going off the handle.

Who's destroying marriage? Those who get into a marriage and not appreciate the promise that they have made to that person in front of God.

Our legal system, you can go down the street to the "Legal Help" centers and get a divorce for 225$. It has become "normal". Please forgive me, especially with women. Something is going wrong in a relationship, and a womans friends say "Divorce him" at the drop of a hat.
