Holistic refers to the principles of viewing the person as a whole. The whole person should be considered in relation to the pregnancy. The pregnancy is not just happening to the woman's uterus but to her as a person. It involves every part of her. For holistic think 'whole'. Interconnected would refer to the vital connection between the health of the woman and that of her unborn child. Whatever is done to one will affect the other. You cannot treat the mother and the unborn baby as separate entities. In this sense they are interconnected and the care requires a holistic approach. I hope this is along the right lines. Good Luck. There are three reference sites listed below. The first one states, "During pregnancy, the endrometrium becomes rich in glands and blood vessels. These all become interconnected, forming the placenta."
I am not sure if this is what you need, but I hope these help. Go to the reference sites below.
