Craving ice is called "pica" and can mean that some elements/vitamins are deficient in your body. I loved to chew ice and just this year found out that I have Iron Deficency Anemia. The ice chewing was a symptom of it. What it meant was that my body didn't have enough iron to properly make red blood cells, so subconsciously I was trying to get more iron into my body. Go figure! Ice isn't a good source of it, but I was craving it anyway. I was also pretty tired and would get little cracks at the corners of my mouth. It felt like my heart would skip a beat every now and then. Some people have shortness of breath too. Do you have any of the same problems? I took iron supplements and feel like a new person. And I really don't feel the urge to chew ice anymore.

i used to eat loads of ice, just crunching on it all the time; but recently i've just stopped. Jus hid the ice-cube maker. i don't know its just one of those things. I don't think there's anything wrong with it...although my mum used to always tell me i'll lose my teeth if i carry on...

Chewing ice can be bad for your teeth, I'd suggest finding something else.
