Likely your graphics card driver is butting heads with the SP2. Find out the manufacturer of your card or the chipset and download the latest drivers. Right click My Computer, choose Properties, click the Hardware tab, and choose Device Manager. This will tell you who makes the video card.

Service pack 2 installs its own drivers which in some cases don't work as well as those you get from the manufacturer. The best thing to do would be to download the most recent driver files from the manufacturer of your graphics card. This should sort any problems.

May be, SP2 overwrites your graphics driver. you could try installing your graphics driver after the SP2 installation. Just a suggestion.
