LMP 22nd Nov, next 1 due tomorrow (20th Dec). Had sex 3rd, 4th and 5th Dec knowing that I should ovulate around the 6th Dec. Been feeling bit sick on and off, really tired and sore nipples, heavy feeling in breasts. Used First Response test on 16th-negative, repeated this morning (19th) and theres a faint line. Ive read through the leaflet but cant find anything about if theres a faint line. Am I pregnant?Any sensible opinions please. Thanx.

Go to a Doctor and get tested! This is the most sensible advice to give you. They have clinics that will test for free.

There are a few possibilities. If you followed directions and read it within the timeline you might have gotten a stronger test. Or if it is so faint you have to hold it to a light then it could be an evaporation line. However, with that said since you found a faint line I would go to the doctor and get a blood test. Very few things can give a false positive (unless you take certain fertility treatments). Take the positive as if you are pregnant and start doing healthier things. Try not to get your hopes up (easier said than done) but keep in mind you could be. The best thing to do is go to the doctor as I said before. A blood test can tell you much easier. Good luck and hope this helps some.

Usually the directions of use on the home tests will say if there is a faint line or any sign of a line, that should be taken for a positive result. The only positive way to know is to see your doctor...he can perform a blood or urine test to findout for sure. If you do not have a regular doctor, check to see if there is a Planned Parenthood or a free health clinic on your area. Most times, they will perform tests for free. It is better to find out sooner or later so you can start taking the best care of yourself and your baby ( if you are pregnant).
Good luck!

It sounds like there is a good chance that you could be. Those are all the signs of pregnancy. I used a different brand of test and the instructions said if there is any line at all, then you are. If you are regular with your period, I would take a test if you do not start. You will want to do it first thing in the morning because it is more accurate. Good Luck and Best Wishes.

Take the test again in a few days. When I found out I was pregnant two years ago I took the test at the sign of my missed period and it was negative. I took it again a week later and there was a faint line. I was actually going to wait another week to take another one but I started morning sickness, a few days later I went to the doctor and their test was positive.

usually First Response is pretty good about the results, but do take another test to make sure. When I got pregnant, my test had a very faint line, but a few days later it was darker.

i would say yes
but take another test just in case cause that one was weird.
On a pregnancy test, a faint test line - or color band - is usually indicative of a positive result, as long as it's read within the allotted time frame - or reaction time of the test (usually at 5-10 minutes). If you do the pregnancy test properly and read it within the recommended time, then a faint and weak line is very likely a positive pregnancy test. Explanations for a faint positive line include:
You may be testing too early after conception - the hCG in your body may not be at a sufficient level for test detection. hCG doubles every two days, so wait and test again using first morning urine.
Different test sensitivity. As tests detect hCG at different levels, a faint line on one variety of test may appear as a stronger line on a 20 mIU test.
Urine dilution. Your urine may be diluted due to frequent urination or consumption of liquids. First morning urine is recommended for pregnancy testing as it contains the most concentrated presence of hCG.
Chemical pregnancy. Sometimes, an early pregnancy is detected - followed by negative test results. A chemical pregnancy means implantation takes place followed by a miscarriage - usually before any other pregnancy symptoms are detected.

Take another home pregnancy test or if you can afford it, there are some clinics that will do a blood test for about $30 and you can find out w/in 30 minutes...

Usually if there is a faint line that means it has detected the pregnancy hormone. That means you are pregnant. I'd go to the doctor to make sure though.
