Asters bloom in the fall and although mainly associated with more northern gardens, will grow in Florida. They require cool/cold winters so leave them out in the garden over winter

Living in FL makes a huge difference, even where you live in FL will make a difference. A friend who lives on one of the keys will be moving to the Ocala area and will no longer be able to leave orchids out all year any more but may be able to have winter pansies and snapdragons as well as ornamental cabbages and kales. Your best bet is to ask when you see a display in your neighborhood that appeals to you and ask at local garden centers.
