You need to see a Workers' Compensation attorney ASAP. If your husband was hurt on the job then he has a workers' compensation claim. Further, in most situations, it is illegal for the employer to fire the employee simply for having an accident at work. Your workers' compensation attorney can also help you with this. Your husband may be entitled to additional penalties and sanctions against the employer.
Also, do not listen to "Get Justice" or click on his link. He is selling a "find-a-lawyer" service. Have your husband ask some other truckers if they know any workers' compensation attorneys or ask his union or look in the yellow pages. The workers' compensation case will not cost you anyhting!! Your attorney will take the case on a contingent basis. This means that you pay absolutely nothing unless you win your case. Then you pay 20% of whatever your attorney collects for you.

I don't know that you have any rights if he was illegally terminated. However, he should contact a lawyer in your state that can discuss his case with them. They usually do a no cost or low cost initial consultation that includes hearing the facts and determining whether or not there is any basis for persuing a claim against the company for wrongful termination. Keep in mind that if he was an at-will employee, that means either party could terminate the employment relationship for any reason, other than those specifically protected against (i.e. race, gender, or in retaliation, such as a whistle blower).

I work with transportation for a very LARGE company. ( I choose NOT to say). However, normally when an accident occurs there are damages for the company as well. (freight, etc.) Although insured they'd rather get rid of what they beleive is the "problem". Sometimes its a driver. I would say that you contact the umemployment office in your area. I'm almost positive they'll givr you direct routes to connect to that can help you regarding your specific matter.

You both have the right to go and get another job. Stop thinking/dreaming about getting some big payout from a lawsuit, that's just being a leech on society. Get back to work

I don't know that you personally have any "rights" in the situation. Those fall to your husband.
