Why should Nintendo be liable?

If people are stupid enough to throw their Wii controllers through their TVs, why should Nintendo be liable? There is a class action lawsuit being brought against them for users who had the wrist straps break on their controllers and as a result sent them flying into expensive objects. But WHY would you let go of the controller in the first place - and then be swinging it HARD enough to snap the strap - and then be standing CLOSE enough to your television to have it cause damage? Isn't this like suing Louisville Slugger because you let an aluminum bat slip out of your hand and it flew through your neighbors window? Shouldn't the grip have been better....

Since the strap is included as a wa of NOT having the unit go flying through the TV, the fact that it broke is a definitive point of liability. If you are driving in your car and are in an accident, and the seat belt breaks, y ou would sue the manufacturer as it did not do what it was designed to do. THe same applies here. The SAFETY strap wasn't SAFE.

Nintendo should be partially to blame for this little mishap with their Wii remote straps. By suing them, you get the point across that something has to be done even if you don't win.

I agree its CRAZY!!! But you know people will sue for just about anything any more. Just like suing the Fast food company cause your child is over weight. HELLO "Then stop taking your kid to those places and ordering super size items." I hope Nintendo wins!!!!!

why is McDonalds held liable if some pours hot coffe on themselves, because people are stupid, and useing a product for its intended use is just to much to ask for, "but it wasn't working so i started hitting it" yea, that works, bunch of ******* morons that won't take responability for there own actions, it must be someone elses fault my controller flew out of my hand and hit my tv.

because of their sucessful consoles like gameboy advance advance sp ds etc...but consoles like gameboy micro seriosly sucks to the core
their consoles well.....there not as good as sony ps ps2 n ps3 but itz cheap and provides gaming for some time
also the nintendo one consule is there in which you can use your gameboy advance as a controller
those consoles are worth buying because they give you gaming experince at home as well as at outside places
i m saying if nintendo puts a litle more effort it can be as good as sony
