Just because 2 brothers grow up in the same family with the same parents does not mean they will have the same experience. Each time someone new is introduced into a family it changes the dynamics of the relationship between everyone. Twins can grow up to be very different people. Look at Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. No one goes through exactly the same situations in life.

This happens in any family. No, an introvert cannot usually become an extrovert successfully. Because it all starts when we are born, and how we take in information over the course of our life time.
Our "comfort levels" are different, by what we personally place value on. Extroverts need interaction with their environment. Introverts need reflection about their environment. Nether is wrong.

We're just born that way – like one sibling having brown hair and the other having blonde.

Introvert & extrovert refer to the way people get their energy. Extroverts get energy from being around people and talking, while introverts need quiet and alone time to recharge their batteries. Usually introverts are more shy than extroverts, but this is not always the case. Introversion is not the same as being shy or other social skills.

It is the same in my family. I am an introvert, while my sister is an extrovert.

The biological explanation works with your central nervous system. An introvert has an overly stimulated CNS. They don't necessarily need any undue extraneous stimulation from the outside. An extrovert has an understimulated CNS, where they must seek more stimulation from ouside sources.

My best explanation is that I "decompress" the best by spending time alone, while my sister's best way to relieve stress is to go out and party and hang out with friends.

well thats kinda like my family my older sister's are more extrovert and i'm the only introvert one but like the other's said some people are just different and it might have to do with genetics like everyone else in my family has blue or brown eyes and i'm the only one who has hazel i guess i'm just the odd ball in my family as they tell me

ying and yang, not everyone can be introverts or extroverts, otherwise these terms wouldn't exist. As for it being genetic, no, I don't think so unless something like asperger's comes into factor. It's just people being people, widely divided.

I believe some of it has to do if you are number one child or number two child. And some genetic predisposition. What kind of family you were raised in. Education level also could be a factor.

It is indeed genetic.

Extroverts and Introverts have very slightly different brains.
